Medical Gas Delivery Systems: Some Basics

In medical industry various medical gases are used in various units and for a wide array of purposes. In this article we shall learn about some basic components associated with medical gases. We shall see and learn how these systems work. For medical gas supply and for medical equipment repair consider Mac gases.

System components:

system components is associated with the delivery or registering network of a medical gas. Basically, for every medical gas there has to be a separate system for supply and one system cannot be used for two gases. There cannot be intermingling of two gases. Also, the gases are not to come in contact with the air because these gases are individually extracted from the air for some very specific purposes. Contamination will lead to inefficacy or failure to work in each case.

No cross connection:

it is equally important to ensure that there is no scope for cross connection between the system. This is precisely the idea behind colour-coding the cases and also the systems with which they are working.

Components:

generally the components of a medical gas system for registration and regulation in a medical unit is same. Here are some of the common components which you can find in almost all the medical gas systems. These are as follows.

-Sources

-networks of pipes

-Valves

-Warning systems with alarm

-Outlets and inlets

-Secondary equipment

These systems are elaborately operated and looked after and are usually taken care of or maintained by processionals. For hospital units, it is important that these are repaired and checked timely.
